Thread: cheap web hosting

My web host has let me down so im looking for a reasonable UK host thats cheap but actually works most of the time.
im looking to keep it as cheap as possible, but dont want any of those "free" hosts out there.
i need PHP prefering to use cpanel and fantastico.
so come on guys...find me a good one :wink:

They've been running one of my sites for awhile now. I got in on them when they were doing a deal for 1.99 a month, but . . . I think their cheapest now is 3.99 but still pretty cheap . . . more bandwidth than you'll ever use . . . lots of control over it as well.

Fantastico is coming with them in the next month or so as well.

Shieldhost definitely fits within your budgeting then . . . . . is there a reason why you'd prefer a british hosting company over anywhere else?

mmm..thinkin about it, you do have a point there.
ok..ill settle for anyones views on their hosting companys regardless of where they are based.
..but i must have cpanel and fantastico cos im such a web noob :oops:

$1.95 a month which is about £1.04 IIRC.

I know that you are looking for one in the UK, but www.webhostingforfree.com is really good and all you have to do is register your domain name with them. I use the Canadian version and they never let me down. No ads, banners, or anything. Might be worth looking into.

ive decided to go for this one, they responded right away and i can also pay monthly too, so if i dont like i can move on.
i'll see how it go's and if all go's well they do gameservers too so there may be a [[G15]] battlefield 2 clan site and gameserver to follow...who knows :wink:

Go for a yearly thing and enter 666 or 777 as the promo code and its 9.95 US for the first year, then normal price. 20 gig of hosting and 1TB for bandwith aswell as an extra 40mb of hosting and 1gig of bandwith a month.
