Simple simple SIMPLE question.
Used to run G15, and I had 2 differnt exe files or whatever to call them
So formated computer, installed Win 7.
And now I can only find the "exe" that is related to program the keys and the most basic things.
But I cant see to find the other program whatever it was now called, what it did was among a few things update/search my computer for what programms I have installed and so on.
Its not a huge thing, just buggs the hell out of me.
Did they combine the 2 programs into one ?....
My question is this, how do I tell Logitech G15 to search my computer for what games are installed?

Simple simple SIMPLE answer.
I don't know about the newer driver versions, but, if you're running a G15, either version, you won't need more than the Legacy drivers.
so I would say, uninstall whatever drivers you currently have installed for it,
go to: Logitech Support & Downloads
and download the GamePanel Software (Legacy) package for your system, taking care to make the right choice of 32 or 64 bit versions.
The software version will be 3.06.

When I mouse over the Logitech symbol in systray I get the following information "Logitech Gaming Software 8.20.74"
And when I open the program then try and update I get that it is already updated.
Attachment 745
And the installation files I did get yesterday was from there site, I dont use drivers from CD or anything like that.
So I prob have the exact same program as you have, if u now have G15 V1... I dont know.. anyway.
The question still remains, how do I tell the system to scan my computer for what games/programms are installed.
Because I know it did it yesterday when I did install the Logitech software, but then I had not installed any programs or games.
ofc I can always uninstall and install.. but that is not the "right way" to do it. since I know it is possible to do it.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, so let me try again:
Get rid of (uninstall) the drivers you are currently running...!
The version 8 drivers are KNOWN to be buggy, the newest is not always the best.
The go download the Legacy Driver package, drivers version 3.06, and install that.
Also, don't use the software update function, it doesn't work properly,
as said, install the legacy v3.06 drivers, and as long as you don't have to re-install Windows,
or you don't upgrade Windows to a new version, you won't have to update the drivers.

Oki, did what you said. and found the thing I was looking for.
I have personally not experinced any kinds of buggs when I used the other software, but I trust your experince and judgement in the matter ;O)
Thx for the help.

To be perfectly honest, I've now made the move to the newer software myself, and I'm happy with it. It has a few small issues, but it is much more stable than the crappy v7 releases, and more versatile than the v3 (legacy) packages. It should also be noted that the legacy software will not include updated profiles for games released in the last couple of years. This doesn't matter so much if you, like me, don't bother with the supplied profiles, but I suspect that if you want it to detect your installed games, you'll probably want to be up to date.

I also made the move to the new software. There are 2 things that you need to be mindful of. The LED on the M1, M2, and M3 buttons does not change if you change the M state through SetMKeyState. This is no big deal to me, as the backlighting color tells me that I've changed M states. The new software also fails to come out of sleep mode occasionally. When my LCD window doesn't change from G13, I know it failed, and I have to restart the software or it'll crash my system.

Oh, I had no idea. The fact that the LEDs don't change colour when SetMKeyState() is used is actually BRILLIANT! This means that I can create a colour cycler that can utilise M-state polling without having to worry about one or the other device flickering like crazy and ruining the effect (for instance). That's great news- it's easy enough to change the LED colours from the script anyway, so I see no issue at all with this. Great stuff, bystander. =D
