Thread: is key remapping possible?

hi i've had a G15 for hmm 2 or 3 years now reason I got it was disable windows key and the backlighting the program for it is installed but never setup or used G keys at all and no profiles are setup and now am finally wanting to do something with it :)

basicly I want to play maple story a bit but the keybinds for movement in maple story are the 4 arrow keys so I gotta move with right hand and attack with left which i'm not used to and maple story the only keys you can't remap are the movement keys

so what i'm asking is can I setup the keyboard so that on the fly I can press a button and after that until I swap it back whenever I press WADS the computer would instead use the arrow keys?

and how?

Do you have the G15 v1 or v2?
In other words does it have the blue backlighting or the orange one?

On neither you can remap any keys but the G-keys, but if you have the blue one, you have plenty of them that you could assign for the arrow keys.

v2 is what I have couldn't buy v1 at store 2 years ago when I got this cause v1 was out of print all the stores had was v2

this kinda sucks to hear maple story is a good game but I can't handle using right hand to move and left to attack it makes my hands hurt and me play badly and its a pretty nice game other than not having an option to change movement keys

I had considered getting a G19 to replace the G15 but the LCD screen is useless by the time ya check it in a game your dead lol

about the only thing I know how to do with the keyboard is use backlighting and the switch to disable windows key and the instructions that come with keyboard don't help you set it up for games well

ahh lol fail company to spam that here aren't they? no self respecting person would buy stuff like that here :P

you could try www.autohotkey.com - I used it to make Windows Media Player think that when I pressed the space button I was pressing Ctrl+p, you could probably use it to make the game think that w was up etc.

Microsoft has a utility that allows you to create custom keyboard layouts - its imaginatively called Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator. I hope that helps achieve your goal.
